REPUBLIC OF COTE D'IVOIRE
'UNITY--DISCIPLINE--WORK'
DISTRICT OF ABIDJAN STATEMENT NUMBER 116
Traffic in the district of Abidjan has become of particular concern because of the behavior of some road users who do not respect the basic rules of conduct and thereby cause regrettable bodily and material harm.
The district governor urges all road users to observe the rules and strictly respect:
- spaces and sidewalks reserved for pedestrian traffic
- traffic lights and road signs
- one-way streets
- right of way
- the obligation to keep right on a road with multiple lanes
- the obligation to pass on the left
- the prohibition of on-street parking
Vigorous action will soon be taken against users who are breaking the rules.
